Trail Route
Starting at the trailhead, take Inverness Ridge Trail towards Drakes View Trail for about 1.5 miles. There’s a section that passes by a residential road, so you’ll have to walk along that to find where the trail picks up again. It’s well marked and should be easy to spot.
At the next trail marker, take Drakes View Trail to the left, towards Bayview Trail. Follow that for 1.8 miles, through the woods and heading downhill. You’ll then find the trail marker for Bayview Trail – follow that towards Limantour Road for another 1.8 miles back to the parking lot. The trail will climb up back to the ridge, but the climb is pretty gentle and steady.
Notes
We saw a coyote just chilling in the morning sun on Inverness Ridge Trail. It didn’t seem very bothered by our approach, but it scampered into the bushes when a runner passed by.
We also passed a group of mushroom pickers, and a my hiking companions found a couple of huge king trumpet mushrooms along Bayview Trail.
