Trail Route & Notes
We started the longer loop at Deer Island by going to the left. It’s very easy to follow the trail. After about 0.7 miles, there’s a trail going up to the right, the De Borba Trail, but we stayed on the outer trail. After you’re out of the tree cover, there’s another trail—on the left this time—but we stayed on the loop trail and soon reached the starting point again. Overall, this is a nice stroll, especially with an older dog who can’t manage a longer hike.
The trail looks totally different from fall to spring, and you can change it up by walking the loop in the opposite direction.
