Trail Route & Notes
Start the hike from the end of Knight Drive, climbing up about 0.1 miles to reach Bay View Trail. Turn left onto Bay View Trail, continuing on that for about 1.6 miles. There will be a spot where the fire road intersects; you’ll have to follow the fire road for maybe 100 feet to re-join Bay View Trail. Where Bay View Trail forks off, take the trail to the left onto Echo Trail for about 0.6 miles. When you hit the road, turn around and return the way you came.
The views from the ridge were nice, but I probably wouldn’t repeat this hike. There are better hikes in China Camp. We did this hike to check Echo Trail off the list. The redwoods were cool to see, but otherwise, I prefer the trails on the other side of the park.
