Trail Route & Notes

This hike begins up the hill from the parking lot. You can of course hike in either direction; we chose to go counter-clockwise. There are some trails leading off of Lake Lagunitas Road, but just stick to the trail closest to the lake and you won’t get lost.

There’s a nice picnic area next to the parking lot – it’s completely shaded. This hike was pleasant but not challenging, so if you want a longer hike, I’d recommend the loop around Bon Tempe Lake (see my post about that here), or you could combine the two, which is what did on this excursion. We hiked Lake Lagunitas, took a snack break at the picnic tables, then continued on to hike around Bon Tempe Lake for a total hike of about 5.7 miles.
