Trail Route & Notes
Start from the trailhead on Paradise Drive, climbing about 0.2 miles until you hit the loop. We chose to go counter-clockwise, taking Phyllis Ellman Trail first, but of course you can go either way. It was just less than 0.7 miles to the top, regardless of which path you take. Follow the fire road to hit the Loop Trail that will take you back down the hill.
The views were nice, towards Richmond Bridge. We saw some deer and a rare flower, which was pointed out to us by a friendly park ranger who happened to be photographing it. It was quiet on the trail at the start and the end, but quite busy on the top of Ring Mountain. We saw a lot of dogs.
